for the moment I'm done with adding power, and I'm working on looks. I have red h's for the front and rear emblems on the way, as well as a red h for the steering wheel. next month a type r key and red h centercaps will be priority.

also, looking at the FD2 shiftboot, and the strutking dead pedal. cost is 40ish and 40ish, respectively.

I still need to get springs and a camber kit at some point... not sure if I should save up and go for the HFP kit or maybe even the mugen kit, or just stick with plans to get the plain jane eibach springs + camber kit.

finally, I'm considering switching over to ENEOS oil and doing an oil analysis.

As the picture says, those are my long range plans. I think after I get the throttle body spacer out of the way (should happen soon, I'm selling my K&N SRI as we speak, nearly) The springs need to be next. not that they are necessary, but they (hopefully) will help improve (the already impressive) handling.

A member of 8th civic has started me wanting TSX cams, although they are going to be EXPENSIVE, it looks like. in the neighborhood of 700 or something (for the exhaust and intake cam gears).

I wish I knew how much those cams added.

So, I've been fairly skimpy with a true update, and haven't been following the true point of this site very well lately. to rectify the issue, I've got a "real" (sucky) update for myself.

Starting with a couple of decent pictures of the Si....and moving on to other things.

Still waiting on the Random Technologies catalytic converter, and thinking about switching from my K&N SRI to a Comptech Icebox (if they ever actually put it into production).

I changed my Manual Transmission fluid the other day- my car apparently uses a manual transmission fluid with a weight close to that of standard automotive oil- something along the lines of 10W-30 or 10W-40. I decided to change it after reading a bunch of things on 8thcivicforums, which has a wealth of information. I’m using a fully synthetic 5W-30 now made by Amsoil (synthetic synchromesh manual transmission fluid). When I got the fill hole off of the transmission, fluid GUSHED out. About half a quart! What’s ridiculous about that is that it shouldn’t gush out of the fill hole at ALL, that’s the hole that the transmission is FILLED from (hence the name).

Basically, somehow Honda managed to overfill the transmission.

The car shifts a little better now- Tracy commented that it feels “looser,” and I agree that there is less resistance when putting it in gear. It is more smooth and liquid, almost.

I decided to compile a list of the things that I both currently have, and that I’m currently looking at. I want a lot- too much, in fact.

Things I have:

K&N SRI

R/T Cat (on the way, can’t wait to put it on!)

Tanabe Racing Medallion Touring exhaust

Not much, is it? Hopefully the addition of the Cat will tide me over for a while….

Things I’m looking at:

Hondata Heatshield Intake Manifold Gasket (IMG)

P2R (I think) Throttle Body gaskets

Comptech short shifter

Corsport shifter cable bushings

Hondata reflash

Comptech icebox

Unorthodox Racing pulley set

Tanabe underbrace

Tanabe springs?

I should be able to pick up the Hondata IMG and P2R throttle body gasket for under 75 dollars (total). The short shifter and cable bushings should probably be around another 75. The UR pulleys… I don’t know. 230? I have no clue what the icebox would cost, but the reflash is the most expensive item on the list at right under 600. I think I would get the underbrace, and then the springs- the underbrace is 200ish. Springs, about the same.
